Education Matters: Montgomery County School – December 2025

Education Matters A Monthly Conversation with Interim Superintendent Jamie Wilson

Spreading Holiday Cheer

As we approach this joyful holiday season, I want to extend my warmest greetings to all of our Montgomery Public Schools students, staff, parents, guardians, and community partners. This time of year invites us to pause, reflect, and celebrate the moments that have shaped us, both in our homes and in our classrooms. I am grateful for each of you and the vital role you play in helping our students learn, grow, and thrive.

While the holidays bring much-needed rest and connection, they also offer an opportunity to refocus on the values that guide our work every day: academic excellence, consistent school attendance, and our shared commitment to supporting every child. Our students are capable of remarkable achievements, and together, we must continue setting high expectations that encourage them to reach their full potential. Academic excellence is not simply a goal it is a foundation for future opportunities and success.

I also want to emphasize the importance of regular school attendance. Each day in the classroom matters. When students are present, they are more likely to stay on track academically, build strong relationships, and develop the confidence needed to excel. As we enter the new year, I ask that we work collectively to ensure our children attend school every day, ready to learn and ready to succeed.

Most importantly, let us continue to stand united in supporting all children, every learner, every background, every dream. Our community is strongest when we lift up our students together, providing encouragement, love, and the belief that they can achieve greatness.

Montgomery, thank you for your partnership, your dedication, and your trust. I wish each of you a safe, restful, and joyful holiday season. May the new year bring renewed hope, continued progress, and countless moments of pride in the success of our children.
