When Quanda Robinson walked through the doors of Prattville Elementary, her first impression was marked by an instant smile. After interviewing with Dr. Felissa Clemons and Mrs. Stefanie Aaron, she was given a warm, personal tour of the school. The building was lively, the teachers were friendly, and the administrators were welcoming and genuine. “I left that day feeling like PES was exactly where I was meant to be,” she shared. “It felt like home.”

Quanda graduated from Auburn University Montgomery, earning both her Bachelor’s in Childhood Education (P–6) and her Master’s in Elementary Education (K–6). Although she never pictured herself teaching 4th grade, she has grown to love it more than she ever expected. “Fourth grade is such a sweet balance,” she said. “They’re becoming independent thinkers, but they still want to make their teacher proud.”

Most of her early career was spent teaching reading and language arts—subjects that mattered deeply to her because she once struggled as a reader herself. But two years ago, she transitioned into teaching math, science, and history. “I will always love reading, but math has my heart,” she expressed. “Getting to share something I truly enjoy with my students is incredibly rewarding.”

For her, teaching means far more than loving her students. It’s about building meaningful relationships, creating a safe and supportive classroom, communicating clearly, and holding high expectations. She believes in listening, growing, and honoring the diverse learning styles her students bring with them each day.

One thing she wishes more people understood is that students grow at different paces. “We want every child to master every standard before moving on, but time doesn’t always allow it. That part can be tough.”

Her biggest goals as a teacher are to help students grow academically, build strong relationships, and prepare them for success long after they leave her classroom. Someday, she hopes to open a learning center for children from birth to age five, as well as an after-school tutoring program for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Born and raised in Montgomery, Quanda graduated in the top 10 of her class at G.W. Carver High School. She has one daughter, Triniti Brown.
